AI Products Break Old UX Assumptions
Designing for AI-powered products breaks rules that held for years. Output is unpredictable, responses take real time, and the same input can produce different results.
The interface has to set expectations honestly instead of pretending the system is as deterministic as older software.
Design for Uncertainty
Traditional UI assumes one correct answer. AI often returns something plausible but not perfect, so the design has to make it easy to review, edit, or regenerate.
Treat AI output as a first draft the user refines, not a final answer they must accept.

Make the Wait Feel Productive
Users won't stare at a spinner for ten seconds. Streaming a response as it generates turns a slow wait into a fast-feeling experience.
Showing progress, and letting people start reading before the answer is complete, changes perceived speed entirely.

Keep the Human in Control
The best AI products feel like a capable assistant, not an unpredictable black box. Clear undo, easy correction, and visible confidence keep the user in charge.
We design AI features so people always feel they are steering, even when the model does the heavy lifting.
